Poetry workshop

We are learning to understand how different words in poems can hook the reader.
Why: rhyming words make poems more interesting.

These were the rhyming words in the poem. Brew and pooh, lotion and potion, shrink and drink.

What is brew? Brew means drink.

What is the other word for brew? The similar word of brew in the poem is a potion.

Writing

We Are Learning To  write a formal letter.
We wrote to the Hastings district council and we told them our opinion about the changing speed limit from Hastings to clive.
The speed limit was being changed back to 100kph from 80kph. I strongly disagree with the change because the roads would not be as safe.

Swimming reflection

In swimming I have been part of the eels group.

I have been learning to:

  • Kick on our front and back

  • Use the right arms in freestyle and backstroke

I am most proud of: backstroke

I now need to work on doing:  kicking for breaststroke
